Gene Aksamit
Gene has been doing Czech genealogical research for the past 19 years. He has written a History of the Aksamit Family in Bohemia, and continues to do research on the other branches of his family. Gene is past president and past chairman of the board of directors of the Czechoslovak Genealogical Society International (CGSI). He has written a number of articles for Naše rodina, the quarterly publication of CGSI, and given presentations on genealogical research topics at CGSI meetings.
His great-grandparents on both sides of the family all emigrated from Bohemia and eventually settled near Wilber, NE. Gene is a graduate of Wilber High School and the University of Nebraska with a degree in electrical engineering. He and his wife have lived in Edina, Mn for many years where Gene worked for Honeywell in various engineering and management positions.
